What is Shamanism?
Shamanism is considered the oldest spiritual healing tradition in the world and is still in practice today. Although the word shaman is a Siberian word, meaning “healer” or “to know”, shamanism has been practiced in all parts of the world for almost 40 thousand years. Shamanism teaches that everything that exists is alive and has a spirit and that everything is interconnected spiritually. Humans have a spirit, plants have a spirit, rocks have a spirit, communities have a spirit, even inorganic matter has a spirit. Because of this, a shaman does not follow the law of man, but the law of spirit.
The Role of the Shaman
A shaman strives to live in balance and harmony. He/she acts as a medium between the physical and the spiritual world through various rituals, primarily the shamanic journey, which can be induced through the aid of a stimulus such as a drum, rattle, or the use of sacred plants. A shaman works to re-establish a harmonious interpersonal relationship in an individual to encourage an emotional catharsis and a remembering and re-experiencing of painful memories and feelings. By working in an inner spiritual realm, changes are fostered in the physical world.
Shamans believe that physical illness often begins as a spiritual illness, thus the intent is to restore spiritual power. This is achieved through shamanic healing. If one is suffering from disease, depression, anger, bad luck, an accident, trauma, or addiction, the cause may be due to the loss of power or soul loss. A result of this loss materializes as emotions becoming crystallized in the body, which then become a magnet or pattern of negative energy and a variety of disorders. Shamanic healing involves helping an individual see how these patterns manifest in physical reality and then realigning the energies to reach a state of harmony. When one is “power-full” and filled with pure energy and spirit, he/she is less likely to become vulnerable to negative energy and fall into disharmony.
Shamanic healing is truly a holistic approach, encompassing body, mind, heart, soul, and spirit. It helps one reclaim his/her power and inner strength, remember his/her higher purpose and life path, and restore a deep connection to the soul’s journey. Shamanic healing is also incumbent on the power of one’s faith both in the shamanic healer and the healing practice.
What to Expect During an Intuitive Shamanic Healing
Each intuitive shamanic healing session is tailored to an individual’s specific needs. All sessions begin with a conversation to learn more about you, what you are feeling, and what you are experiencing. We discuss what changes you want to see in your life and what you believe is holding you back. After a moment of personal journeying, I perform a cleansing ritual, such as smudging, vibrational cleansing, or limpia to help dispel any negative energy that is clinging onto you and the space around you. One or more of the following tools are then incorporated into the healing: drums, rattles, sacred plants, herbs, incense, resin, crystals, stones, essential oils, candles, singing bowls, gongs, feathers, reiki, or chanting. During an intuitive shamanic healing you may experience a variety of emotions and sensations. Everything you experience is completely natural and necessary in your healing, thus, it is important to allow what you are feeling to come through. At the end of the session, we will have another short discussion so that you may share your experience and then you may be sent home with some “homework” to enhance the healing that has occurred so that you may reap the full benefits. Some people may begin to see positive changes immediately after an intuitive shamanic healing, however, in most cases, a few sessions are required.
Initial Consultation and Intuitive Shamanic Healing (2 – 2 1/2 hours): $200
Following Intuitive Shamanic Healing Sessions (1 – 1 ½ hours): $100
My husband and I both had the pleasure of meeting with Daniela for individual Intuitive Shamanic Healing sessions, followed by a group session to improve on how we interact as a couple. We both really enjoyed our individual sessions, as Daniela was able to specifically cater to our personal needs (based on the detailed forms she had us fill out beforehand), and felt rejuvenated and invigorated afterwards (better than any day at the spa!). The various exercises that were planned for us were really interesting and helped us tap into something below the surface that we didn’t know was there.
